Nokia’s Latest Pledge – 50% of Mobiles to have GPS by 2010-2012

Everyone knows Nokia; they are not only the cream of the crop when it comes to mobile phones but are also innovators in the mobile phone market.

So when Nokia pledged that by 2010-2012 they will have 50% of their handsets with GPS as standard, was this claim a step too far?

Hardly! With already people wanting to know whether a newly released phone on the market has GPS functionality, their claims may not stretch far from the apple tree. As well as this, Nokia are already making moves to make this happen by their attempting to get their hands on the map maker NAVTAQ and with 2-4 years to accomplish it…for Nokia’s standard anything is possible.

But what will this mean for the in-car GPS devices as Nokia get ready to step up their pace? All I can say is…get ready all you Sat Nav manufacturers or else you might get washed up in the Nokia’s wave if your not careful.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
