Amazon Planning to Launch Next Gen Kindle Fire in Q2

Kindle Fire proved to be successful in its own right and Amazon is now going to capitalize on this success by launching next version of the low priced tablet. According to the China Times, Amazon is in the process of delivering samples to manufacturers by March. Though, it also stated that the specs of the tablet have not been finalized as yet.

Pacific Crest, a research firm, has also suggested that Amazon may actually be planning to launch two variants. Apart, from updating current 7-inch tablet, it may also launch a bigger 9-inch tablet. These tablets are likely to be launched by mid-year.

It is also speculated that Amazon may be roping in Foxconn as its potential manufacturer. Foxconn is currently facing fire for its alleged mistreatment of its workers. Amazon is also tweaking its production line in order to reduce costs. Apparently, it would be reducing its dependence on Quantas, which is responsible for picking and approving parts for the tablet. Amazon is likely to start production of new Kindle Fire by May or June this year and the tablet will be introduced in the market by the end of Q2.
