Amazon Fire Kindle received fairly positive response from industry experts and buyers. However, it seems that the exuberance surrounding the tablet is now wearing off. According to a study conducted by Chitika said that the Fire's demand has tapered off following Thanksgiving week. It concluded that the demand saw sharp 85 percent decline in this time period. The study has been conducted by observing over one billion ad impressions and it covers the time period of two weeks ending November 30th.
The tablet was started shipping in Mid-November and since then it showed good growth rate until November 26th, when the demand spiked to the highest level and then fell down with equal gusto. The fall is severe enough to form a new low, which is not a good sign for a newly launched product. The report says, "It would seem that although the Kindle was able to attract a significant user base given its mid-range price point of $200. Once the allure of the device wore off, user activity fell as well."
Though Fire is very attractively priced but consumers might be feeling constricted due to its hardware limitations. The report suggests, "It offers significant benefit at a relatively low cost, and if you're willing to pay the extra mile, you can gain access to services such as Amazon's Digital Content platform. However, if you are expecting a full-fledged tablet, you may be disappointed with functionality, given the Kindle Fire is more of an E-reader+."
Despite the dip, Amazon has declared Fire to be one of its highest selling products. Amazon did not disclose the actual sales numbers.
