Nokia Lumia Phones Receive Positive Review

Earlier this week, Nokia launched two new models of its Lumia Windows phones. The phones look snazzy and have pretty decent features. And now the handsets have received some major seal of approval, from research firm Barclays Capital. The firm, in its research report, states, "Nokia in fact highlighted that pricing tariffs for the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 will be one notch cheaper than the iPhone 4S across all launch markets." However, the firm also noted that the handsets lack any unique feature.

Nokia's Lumia 800 comes with a 3.7 inch touch screen and 1.4 GHz single core processor. The phone also has a solid 8 MP camera. The phone has been priced at $594, but it would be available for free with eligible two year contracts. Barclays noted that the phone is quite competitively priced in comparison ot Galaxy SII and iPhone. The phone will be initially launched in the UK, France, Germany and a couple of other countries in November, while China and the US will have to wait till the first half of 2012.

The other phone, Lumia 710, is also a rather petite phone with 3.7 inch screen, which uses Nokia's ClearBlack display technology for superior contrasts. It has a 5 MP camera, which is capable for taking 720p HD video recordings at 30fps speed. The phone runs on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and has three Nokia-specific apps. The phone has been priced at $320.

Though, even Barclays has given positive review on the basis of pricing only but still Nokia should be happy about it, as it had received somewhat scathing reviews about the phone at the time of their launch.
