Now, that we are done with iPhone 4s and iOS 5, we can take some rest from rumors and speculations. Oh, wait a minute, in a dynamic industry like technology, there is no time to take rest, not even for rumor mongers, so we are back. The latest rumors are about iPad. Yes, iPad 2 was released only a few months back but now is the high time, we start splitting hair about iPad 3, to be released in 2012.

According to the latest wave of rumors, Apple might be gearing itself to face the challenge posed by Amazon's latest offering, Fire. The quasi-tablet released by Amazon does not hold a candle to iPad, but with its very attractive pricing, it is likely to snatch away a few potential iPad buyers. Though, we believe that Fire would be able to attract only very lightweight tech users, but every buyer counts for Apple and hence it may release its own iPad Mini for satiating such users.

According to Ticonderoga Securities, Apple is planning to launch iPad Mini next season, but ironically, the tablet would be the same size as the present one. Uh! As per Brian White, Ticonderoga Securities analyst, the device would be mini in pricing, not in size. If this prediction sounds bizarre to you, then let's just look at the track record of Ticonderoga Securities. It is same research firm, which was pretty sure that Apple would launch two iPhones in 2011. The previous ramblings of Ticonderoga do not inspire much confidence, but, we will always and always welcome a device with lower price tag. So, let's just hope this is one rumor from Ticonderoga stable that comes true.
