Is iPad Facing Demand Slump: Apple Cuts Production Order

We have become so habitual of hearing Apple setting sales records that the news of the company slashing the production of one of its most popular products comes as a shocker. Reportedly, Apple has cut down its production orders for iPad 2 by 25 percent. The scoop has been picked by JP Morgan Chase & Co. analysts and they have claimed that this is the first time in the company's history that such drastic cut has been made.

But worry not, Apple is nowhere near losing its top position in the tablet segment. Though, this recent claim has again fueled the rumor that Apple may introduce iPad e in the near future. While, it seems high likely that the new iPad will be unveiled in October, along with iPhone 5, but the conjectures about the early 2012 introduction of iPad e now seem credible.

Though, the production cut is likely to hit Apple's supplier's hard, but the shipping figures for the Cupertino company are likely to remain intact. Analysts expect Apple to ship 10.9 million to 12 million units in the fourth quarter of the year. The company is also expected to introduce iPad e with some major changes. The new tablet is likely to have faster A6 processor along with high resolution Retina Display screen.

Both Apple and the suppliers have refused to comment on the reports. Also, while Apple has cut its orders in Asia, the Brazilian production of the tablets is in full swings. Some other reports have indicated that Apple may announce price cut on its tablets. Now, that's the rumor we would love to see coming true.
