Google has made some changes to its search function for tablets. The UI refresh is available both for Android and iOS users. The new changes will make it easier for big-pawed users to manipulate their tablets. The new interface features larger buttons and bigger font size, and thus is easier to be used on a tablet. Google has also decluttered the page. As for Image searches, the preview pictures have been made bigger and it also features continuous scrolling. Google is planning to roll out the new changes over a period of next couple of days.
However, this is not the only change Google has brought about this week. The internet search giant is also working towards speeding up your net surfing experience. Its 'Page Speed Service' promises to speed up the page loading process by 25 to 60 percent. It basically grabs the webpage and then "rewrites [them] by applying Web performance best practices" and then the page is routed to you via Google servers.
Though, this service may look like yet another ploy by the company for gathering user' information, but Google took pains to clarify that it would not "use the information collected from serving these websites towards improving search results or targeting advertising to users. We may, however, use the information collected to improve the quality of Page Speed Service itself, including making pages serve even faster."
