Facebook has its apps for various iOS devices including iPhone, but it still does not have a dedicated official app for iPad. Though, rumors had been floating around from quite some time that Facebook is working on developing iPad app, but nothing concrete ever came out of it. However, it looks like that things are about to change now. Recently, there had been some leaked snapshots of the alleged iPad Facebook app. According to preliminary assessment, the app lies somewhere between bare-bones iPhone app and fully fledged website version.
The remnants of the alleged app have been found hidden inside the iPhone app for Facebook. However, it is not known whether Facebook would be further modifying the app before its final release. Though, TechCrunch has confirmed that the code indeed belongs to Facebook iPad app. Like its earlier stance, Facebook has made heavy use of HTML 5 for this app, which has given a richer feel to features such as News Feed.
The prototype app also makes use of pop-overs and features smooth navigation system. However, for running this code, you will need to jailbreak your iPad. But since, Facebook is expected to launch its app real soon, you might want to hold on for a while and wait for the official app to be introduced. It looks like that the wait would be worth it.
