iPhone 5 Release Date September For US & October For Europe?

The iPhone rumour mill is racketing up more and more over the last couple of weeks and today is no different as a release date for the new iPhone 5 has been revealed as September 5th by Swisscom.

The European retailer Swisscom reckons that the new iPhone will indeed be released in September for the US and surprisingly October for Europe. A full month after the US release date.

This rumour could be true, it might be a way for Apple to keep pace with demand after the less than successful availability of the iPad 2 - which is only now just getting to the point where customers can buy the tablets in shops without the need to pre-order.

Speaking with Italian iPhone blog iPhone Italia mobile network provider Swisscom revealed it is to launch the next-generation Apple handset on October 5th, reportedly one month after the device is to touch down in the US.

Apparently the the senior executive at Swisscom reckons the new iPhone will be launched on September 5, which would correlate with rumours of a September release especially after Apple dropped a massive hint of the new blower in its quarterly profits call last month.

Whilst a September arrival is expected for the must-have iPhone 5, it is tipped to be launching with 1GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera and a slimmer form factor, the reportedly leaked September 5th arrival would see the handset land on a Monday casting doubts over the validity of such claims.

But one thing is for sure. There will be a new iPhone in September, so don’t bother buying the iPhone 4 as you’ll probably hate yourself if you buy one now and the new one comes in a month or two. You have been warned. We made such a error and are still on the 3GS.
