LulzSec's web domination was rather impressive. Growing from an unknown group of geeks in dark bedrooms to the most controversial and most powerful 'hacktvisits' on the web; making national headlines and forcing Sony to give away free games along the way.
They certainly brought 'cyber terrorism' into the forefront of the government and the Daily Mail. After a trickle of arrests here in the UK and elsewhere in the world, authorities have now launched a full blown assault on LulzSec members.
16 Anonymous and LulzSec suspects were arrested in the US on Tuesday as well as four in the Netherlands and one here in England.
But that wasn't enough for the FBI. Making sure every possible member of the Lulz crew has been squeezed out of the woodwork, agents arrested 14 more suspects.
Another British teenager was also arrested by the UK’s eCrime on suspicion of breaching the Computer Misuse Act. Police seized his computer equipment and have begun to question the youngster in regards to his relationship with the infamous 4Chan group Anonymous.
Interestingly enough the arrests are due to the Pro-Wikileaks attacks on PayPal. Obviously you can hack as many online games or tech manufactures as you want, but if you f*** with money or defend a political whistle blowing site, you better have some pants on when the cops come smashing through your bedroom door.
Meanwhile Lulzsec claim they’re still going. On Twitter the group said “Apparently our leader got arrested.” “We’re still here. Who did the take down?”
