Angry Birds Finally Release on Windows Mobile 7

When Microsoft announced their Window Mobile 7 they used Angry Birds in the Marketing campaign - even though the game from Rovio wasn't even in the works for the less than popular OS.

Well Microsoft has finally got their game as users of Window Mobile 7 can now download the most popular mobile game from the Windows Mobile App store.

Despite attractive Xbox Live integration, Microsoft’s OS has yet to court the variety of app developers that Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android mobile platforms have.

As a chart topper on Android and iOS, Angry Birds for WP7 therefore represents a key gaming app that Microsoft can add to its arsenal.

Angry Birds has been the biggest success story of mobile devices. It held in such high esteem it would be fair to say the it's blown Nokia Snakes out of the water in both sales and notoriety.

So the Big M are pretty please to see the game on their devices. Microsoft made the announcement today via its windowsteamblog.com website with Microsoft's Michael Stroh stating:

"At last. Angry Birds is now available in the Windows Phone Marketplace--a few hours ahead of schedule and so fresh it hasn't even been rated yet!"

"Be the first--or just hunker down with your phone and get dem pigs."

"The game, the last in Xbox's Must Have Game series for Windows Phone, is free to try and $2.99 to buy"

As suggested by Stroh, Angry Birds will make up part of the showcased “Must Have Games” app series for the phones, which also includes Doodle Jump, Sonic the Hedgehog and Plants vs Zombies.
