This weekend, hacking group LulzSec announced its departure. However, it did with a bang by releasing a stack of documents from hacked website of AT&T. The leaked documents showed some mundane stuff, but there were some interesting tidbits thrown in too. One of these documents showed that AT&T is all geared up for testing 4G iPad later this year. The testing is likely to take place in November or December this year.
The document has lent further credence to the rumors which were already floating around. Earlier this year, research firm CLSA claimed that Apple is planning to launch 3rd version of its ubiquitous tablet earlier than the usual schedule. Though, by early, they actually meant the holiday season of this very year. This seems unlikely if the tests are scheduled in the penultimate month of the year. We all know Apple does not release half-baked goods, barring of course, the antennagate debacle. But if not in holiday season, at least now we know that as and when Apple releases the iPad 3 in 2012, it would be a 4G LTE device. Now, are you feeling stupid for buying iPad 2 from grey market at twice the retail price?
In the meantime, analysts are still clamoring about the iPhone or iPhones to be released this year. While a Deutsche Bank analyst claims that there would be two iPhones released this year, other analysts are still sticking to their iPhone 4S theory. It does not matter how many different models of iPhone are there, but a prepaid iPhone would certainly be a whole new ballgame.
