Recently CIA director Leon Panetta warned that a large-scale cyber attack could take down power, finance, security and governmental systems. He called the threat a 'real possibility.' It turns out he was right, as ironically the latest victim of Lulz security is…. the CIA
A few minutes ago a tweet by the hacking group said, 'Tango down: CIA.org for the Lulz.'
And, surprise, surprise the CIA website is down. (They also hit EVE online, again.)
The CIA hack is part of a series of denial of service attacks by Lulz over recent days. After yesterday’s Titanic Takeover Tuesday we were all wondering what would happen next.
But what now after a CIA hit? It's pretty embarrassing for the U.S government to have their intelligence agency taken out by some internet jokers. The way things are going it won't be long until Lulz are tracked down. Remember George Hotz who fled the country/ "went on spring break."
