Sony has confirmed this morning that they will fully restore their Playstation Network in Americas, Europe, PAL Regions and Asia by the end of the week.
You can expect them to restore the Playstation Store, In-game currency, voucher and code redeeming, music unlimited Qriocity and Media Go.
According to Sony the "end of the week" deadline excludes Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea - it's still unclear whether this means Sunday or Friday.
“We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love,” commented Kaz Hirai, executive deputy president of the entire Sony empire – and boss of Sony Computer Entertainment.
“We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time.”
The PlayStation Store may be coming back online, but further hacking threats on Sony online could be imminent if threats from hacktivist group LulzSec are to believed after they tweeted that “phase 1” was in operation.
The group that claimed responsibility for last week’s PBS website hack, where it proclaimed that Tupac was alive and living in New Zealand, has claimed it is hacking Sony right now - and stealing “internal” information.
“Hey @Sony, you know we’re making off with a bunch of your internal stuff right now and you haven’t even noticed? Slow and steady, guys” reads a tweet published by the hackers this morning.

And the moral to this story is never annoy a load of technically very competent teenagers. They have a lot of time and a lot of manpower and my guess is that they will continue to bring the Sony sites crashing down until they back down on OtherOS and apologise to Geohot.
