Orange CEO Spills Beans: Alludes to Petite iPhone

Apple follows an annual cycle for its iPhone updates and as the time for this year is approaching nearer, the rumor mills have started working overtime churning out new information. This time over, the news is coming from a somewhat credible source. France Telecom Head Stephane Richard recently let it slip during an interview that the new phone will be more petite thanks to a new smaller SIM card. Well, this is not the first time we are hearing about a tinier SIM, right. France Telecom happens to be the second biggest iPhone carrier, after AT&T.

He also claimed that earlier Apple was considering using an e-SIM but the idea was shelved on the insistence of wireless carriers. Again, it is not the first time, Apple had to change its plans following objections from its partners. Last year, there were rumors about Apple working on an embedded chip in order to eliminate its dependence on mobile carriers. But again, major companies threatened to withdraw their product subsidies and Apple had to backtrack.

Among other rumors about iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S or whatever moniker that bombshell is going to get, is the possibility that the phone will sport a curved screen a la HTC Sensation. But it won't be a completely foreign idea for the company since several of its iPod Nano had similar curved screens. Just when we thought iPhone could not get any sleeker! However, there are some buzz kills suggesting that this design implementation may actually be delayed to iPhone 6.

Curved front gives more natural feeling when you hold it up against your face while talking. It certainly has the oomph factor as well. Though, generally, iPhone announcements are made in the month of June, but looks like this time, we won't get to see the new iPhone till September or so. Well, till then, we will keep scouring around, looking for latest buzz about the phone.
