Gaj-it was invited to London on Friday to see what Sony Ericsson are working on for 2011 and they showed off a new feature called Facebook Inside which will be available on many of their current and new phones over the next 6 months – it looks to integrate Facebook into the most popular sections of a mobile users phone.
Sony Ericsson showed this intuitive and clever new take on Facebook integration on their new line of Xperia handsets.
So we all know that handsets have Facebook in some form or another? Well, instead of having to access the App, their new handsets integrate the best of Facebook into the phones DNA from the ground up - so loving a track? There's a like button built into the media player.
Want to share a photo you can do this direct from the Photo Gallery. It’s one of the most intuitive systems we’ve seen on any handset – it saves you time and means your media can now be posted to your Facebook without ever loading up the App.
So if you playing music and you came across track that you think you'd like to share with your Facebook friends, this wouldn't usually be possible.
Well now it is, as all new Sony Ericsson's will now come with clever Facebook integration allowing you to share the best of your rich media on your handset directly to your Facebook.
There are other cool features too, the integration will group all media posted in your feed into one simple clutter-free feed - so you can catch up on the latest recommendations from you friends whilst only showing links to rich media links rather than simple boring status updates of your friends telling you what they had for dinner.
By making Facebook immediately accessible from the most used sections of your handset such as Picture Gallery, Music Player, Phonebook and Calender. Sony is creating an exciting extension of Facebook direct into the main features of their new line of Xperia Phones.
Other notable inclusions are the revamped phonebook, which will also be more social than ever before with yours friends' interests, and photos found under their address book entry on the phone. You'll never miss a friends' birthday too as the calender pulls the info from Facebook and now brings it in to the Phone's calender.
Henri Moissinac, Head of Mobile Business, Facebook said: " We think that mobile devices are the ideal environment for a rich social media experience.
"Sony Ericsson has created a deeply immersive Facebook experience inside Xperia smartphones we believe that people will love this new intuitive experience."
Existing Xperia Arc and Xperia PLAY users will soon be able to access the new integrated features simply by updating their software. The new XperiaTM mini and XperiaTM mini pro will include Facebook inside Xperia pre- installed on the phones.
Facebook inside will be available in all 2011 Xperia phones from Q2 in selected markets.
