Apple Outfits Its Retail Stores with iPad 2

Apple Retail hits a new milestone and is a decade old now. As the Cupertino company is well known for its show and pomp, it is obviously celebrating the feat with total overhaul of its retail operation or Retail 2.0, as it is being touted. But the move is not being started from the home country, USA, the first lucky country is Australia.

Under Retail 2.0, Apple will make use of its wildly successful tablet iPad 2 for making the shopping experience more interactive. Through these iPads, you will be able to get product information and pricing. But unlike the regular tablets, you wouldn't be able to move these tablets around as these will be firmly embedded next to Apple products.

But you can use them for calling Apple employees, should you need further help or information. Oh, By the way, the employees would be wearing party hats so do not mistake them for party revelers. We sincerely hope that the hat thing is for a day only.

Apple was widely believed to launch some major changes in its retail strategy to mark its 10th anniversary. However, so far, the only change is with regard to its iPad deployment, which probably would compound its iPad-shortage problem further. Apple also reportedly made its employees work overnight shifts and they were also not allowed to take vacations from 20th of May to 22nd. Hey, in addition to Foxconn employees, let's shed a tear for Apple workers as well.  Apple is also likely to update its "Apple Store" app, but we will have to wait a couple of hours more to see that.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
