Apple Considering 3D For iPad 3 ?

We reported yesterday that Apple are considering wireless synching on the next up date to iOS - well now we've got some rumours regarding the next iPad 3 and it's pretty exciting. Anyone say 3D ?

RCR Wireless are reporting that Apple are seriously adding 3D capabilities to their next slate.

Apparently they have spoken to 'a Hollywood insider' we know hardly groundbreaker, but they seem to think that "iPad 3D is a dead cert"

What's more Hollywood are rushing to get numerous 3D films ready for the launch, although Hollywood is already going 3D crazy so we'd hardly call it hard evidence.

Factor in the same rumours from Foxconn staffers and the rumours seems plausible enough, and they have had these rumours confirmed by industry sourcres in the far east too.

Now 3D is a major step, 3D is of course found in the 3DS to mixed results and LG are putting in their phones so would it be so ridiculous to assume that Apple are going down the 3D route.

The rumours don’t explain whether this will be glasses free 3D but we’d imagine Apple would go for the most user friendly version – and it’s certainly possible with the 3DS, but Nintendo have conceded that producing large screens is highly expensive, but we have no doubt that Apple would improve on the tech if the rumours are true.

Would 3D be something you would want on the world's best selling slate ? Or is the thought of Apple induced headaches giving you a migraine already - as ever let us know below.

  • You can’t have glasses free 3D on a screen that is wider than the distance between your pupils, the lenticular lens wouldn’t work.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
