After my last post about the BBC iPlayer Unleashed on the Wii this week, there was some dubious groans from PS3 fans. But fear not as I may have some good news for them! Some of those cleaver people who own the console have put together a little bit of code that when used on the PS3 internet browser will allow owners to watch iPlayer content on their PS3.
While its not officially supported by Sony yet, many people have used the service and everything seems to work. The code that has been cooked up, changes some of the JavaScript and CSS code used by the iPlayer as well as hiding your PS3 identity from the iPlayer so that it will allow the PS3 to play the videos. Also, don't worry this does nothing to harm your console whatsoever.
The icing on the cake is that rumours are flying that the BBC have unofficially offered the PS3/iPlayer hacker a job to work with them! Wonder what his/her answer will be?
If you wish to try this out on your PS3 then simply use the link provided below on your PS3 browser, happy viewing and let us know of your experiences of the iPlayer on our forum.
