After Bill Gates, Google Duo and Steve Jobs Get 'Paul Allen' Treatment

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen recently released his memoirs. As expected, the memoirs contain tidbits about his relationship with Microsoft's other and admittedly, more famous co-founder Bill Gates. To cut a long story short, their relationship was far from congenial and Paul Allen has some choice adjectives for his former friend and colleague.

But Bill Gates is not the only one who has to bear Paul Allen's wrath. Paul, who is worth cool $13 billion, also has some 'not so nice' things to say about the rival company's Steve Jobs. He went on to recall a meeting he and Bill Gates had with Steve Jobs. Apparently, the duo went to see an Apple demo and the computer froze up for a moment. Rest assured, the person demoing the computer, Andy Hertzfeld, received four lettered word strewn quality dressing down from the Apple messiah. Since then, Andy Hertzfeld moved on to found a couple of companies and is currently working with Google. We do not know anything about his immediate reaction, though. Paul Allen also described Steve Jobs as 'Monomaniacal'. Dear Allen, I think we all already know this by now, don't we?

Paul Allen hasn't spared Google kids either. He specifically ridiculed the company's motto 'don't be evil'. Allen pointed out that Google leaves no stone unturned when it comes to monetizing the stuff and in the process forgets the spirit of its motto. While do not begrudge Google for its monetizing efforts, after all, it is a commercial organization and not a charity, but we do kind of agree with Paul Allen, when he says, "If your default is to push the boundaries, to just go for it, and then see if you get pushed back, then don’t say you’re not evil."

Paul Allen's bitter relationship with Google and Apple is not a new thing. Way back in 201, he had waged a patent war and among several other companies, he'd implicated Google and Apple in his case. While this is not the time and place to discuss his case's merits or demerits, we are pretty sure that Apple and Google were not expecting any kind words from Allen.
