Now, that we are done speculating about iPad 2 rumors, it is time to focus our attention on the original 'It' item iPhone. Among all the rumors about the would-be features of the new wonderphone, the launch date of the phone is also an important factor. Seems like, Apple is going to break its usual annual cycle and would be choosing some later date for iPhone 5.
Apple analysts at Avian Securities claim that the Cupertino company is not likely to start producing iPhone until September. The assertion has been made on the basis of information obtained from a key component supplier. Apple generally releases its iPhone upgrade at its Worldwide Developer Conference, which is held in June.
There can be several reasons for the delay. Apart from the usual, Apple trying to retain the mystery and charisma, other reasons include hiccups in the finalization of various rumored features meant to be added to the phone. If you are waiting for a cheaper iPhone, then a supplier has confirmed that they have "seen the placeholder in the Apple roadmap", however, no confirmation is available. At the very same time, such assertion does lend some credibility to 'iPhone Nano' rumors and make it more solid than other rumors such as introduction of Apple Social Networking system for iPhone.
Among the top rumors concerning iPhone 5, is the speculation concerning bezel and screen size. Apple is likely to thin down the bezel of the phone while keeping the dimensions of the phone intact. This will automatically increase the screen size. Now, that the market is teeming with superphones flaunting their 4+ inch screens, Apple's move makes sense. The best part is that despite the increase in screen size, the phone's overall dimensions would be kept the same and the phone would be still be pocket size. You can see the alleged thin bezel picture here.
Apple also recently patented its smart bezel screen concept. Under this, the bezel essentially acts as a secondary screen and has a dedicated set of indicators overlain above the normal screen. Since, the technology has just been patented, we doubt that Apple would be incorporating it in the fifth iteration of its phone. Anyways, September launch date ensures that we are going to spend the entire summer season speculating and ruminating about iPhone 5. Surely, a cool way fighting the summer heat!
