Hydrogen H2Go Cars: Clean, Green, Futuristic Machines!

I have always loved remote. I actually got a RC Ferrari for my birthday a couple of years ago. I guess we're all big kids at heart. But isn't it a real pain running out of batteries? Or worse, losing the charging adapter that you put away in that 'safe place'.Well here's a cool remote controlled car that doesn't need batteries. Nor does it require any charge from mains electricity. Nope, this futuristic looking vehicle is as clean and green as you're gonna get!

Developed by Corgi and boasting zero emission technology, the H2Go car is produced by lightweight and environmentally friendly wheat-based plastics.

The H2Go car is powered by an on-board hydrogen fuel cell.

Fill up your H2Go car at its very own fuel pump; aka, the charging dock. The fuel pump is simply filled up with water from your tap and uses a solar panel to gain power.

Once your car is connected to the fuel pump, the hydrogen is extracted from the water via electrolysis and pumped into the fuel compartment in your car.

When the car is fully fuelled and turned on, the hydrogen fuel cell begins producing an electric current, subsequently powering the car's motors and back wheels.

If only I could fill up my own gas guzzling vehicle this way!

"The H2Go is not only a fascinating miniature-scale, real-working fuel cell powered RC toy that can refuelled using plain water, but marks a change in how the toy industry will need to transform and adapt to a clean energy future" says Michael Cookson, CEO of Corgi International.

Offered in black or silver, you can pre-order the H2Go car at IWOOT. It costs £79.99 and will be available in 5 weeks.

  • Very clean and environmentally-friendly (if the solar panels work in the not-so-powerful UK sun). I wonder if much of the innovation on making & refining model cars could then be reapplied to full-size versions?
