When all else fails tech companies seem to resort to childish insults. I'm not complaining, it's hilarious and the debates between the Apple haters and the Apple lovers that inevitably emerge in the aftermath are quite entertaining. Late last year Motorola called the iPad a 'large iPhone.' And this year some moaning tech bloggers branded the iPad an ‘expensive toy.' That's just two examples of the constant barrage of verbally mockery directed as Steve's latest child. There's been many more and as the second generation of the iPad storms into the tech industry Dell have handed the tablet one of its first bashings.
Dell Head of global marketing Andy Lark said that the tablet is "too expensive, closed and complex to keep up with Android."
“I couldn’t be happier that Apple has created a market and built up enthusiasm but longer term, open, capable and affordable will win, not closed, high price and proprietary" claimed Lark.
And the hatred doesn't stop there. “Apple is great if you’ve got a lot of money and live on an island. It’s not so great if you have to exist in a diverse, open, connected enterprise; simple things become quite complex” he said.
Could this be the most fierce attack on the iPad yet? It doesn't really matter if it is or it isn't like I said they only dish out insults when all else fails. Maybe Apple will take notice when someone actually releases a serious competitor.

The empty can rattles the most. If you can’t beat it, try and put it down.
Closed isn’t the bad thing they make it out to be. If it’s open then everyone gets in on the act and ruins it and causes problems. See most PC hardware and software. Even Google are trying to limit the changes made to Android by restricting it.
As for the price, if you opt for cheap, you get cheap. Samsung had to delay the Galaxy 2 because they were surprised that the iPad prices didn’t go up, not to mention that they wanted to add more stuff to make it even slightly comparable.
