So the iPad 2 is finally out, and you probably been on it all weekend, so we thought we'd give you some ideas of apps you might want to download to your new pride and joy - after all nearly 70% of all iPad 2's were sold to new customers who hadn't owned the first one. So lets get it filled up with the best of the best.

First of all we'd recommend that you pick FlipBoard, basically Flipboard is a social magazine app.

It takes your Facebook or Twitter feed and presents it as a magazine style showing off all rich media in stunning high def, it does this by showing off all those lovely links people share on social networks - so when someone post an article from a site to Facebook this is present in full tablet magazine style.

It also has channels made up by the editors over at Flip who have bundled multiple sites into channels so you can keep up to date with multiple sites in one place, throw in some lovely gestures and you've got a truly stunning app.

We've been using for over a year, and while it had some problems in its inception the latest version is a must for any iPad owner.

GarageBand is the app which Apple made a big song and dance about when the unveiled the iPad. It's the killer app, a brilliantly touch-focused reimagining of GarageBand from Mac OSX. It's a musical app for people who have no musical skill or virtuosos who want to make music pretty much anywhere you can carry an iPad.

It's easy to make professional sounding songs. The fact that you can plug in real instruments too as well as cheat with smart instruments is an amazing achievement – we’d expect this app to sell millions of iPad 2’s just by its self, it’s that good.

If you bought an iPad 2, you have to get GarageBand: it's not just one of the best iPad 2 apps, but one of the most impressive pieces of consumer software we've seen in a very long time.

The only shame it's not bundled with the iPad for free, but only costs a few pounds and as Mr Jobs said "It raises the bar when it comes to apps".

iMovie is the second of Apple's two killer iPad 2 apps. Just like Garage Band, iMovie takes the Mac desktop experience and gives it a really powerful touch overhaul.

While you might not want to capture your video with the iPad 2 camera, editing footage from other places on your iPad 2 is a really joyous experience.

Dead Space was a brilliant game on the original iPad and the iPhone 4 but on the iPad 2 it's been given a new lick of paint making it even more real and even more frightening.

They’ve ramped up the graphics to make it a truly impressive game that you’d be hard press to find on any other portable device.

One the most played games on the iOS platform, Real Racing, had an impressive update for the new iPad 2.

Firemint's Real Racing HD is receiving support for 1080p resolution while serving two separate displays: The iPad as the controller and then using the new AV cable you can output on to another screen in Full 1080p.

The software update clearly demonstrates the power of the Apple A5 processor which really does seem to have 9 times the graphical grunt.

Firemint said: "Using the video out feature of an iPad 2, Real Racing 2 HD will be able to be displayed on a big screen in full 1080p resolution while the device's 10-inch touchscreen shows a track map and race statistics.

“This is the first indication we've seen of an iOS game taking advantage of the iPad 2"²s ability to render out at a full 19201080 HD resolution. On an HDTV, Real Racing 2 HD will run full screen with no black borders and at native 1080p resolution, without scaling."

You can get all these apps from the iTunes App store and are sure to get any non-ipad owner jealous of what they’re missing out, if you have any other suggestions, then please let us know, after all there are 300,000 apps and there are sure to be ones that we haven’t come across yet.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
