iPhone 5 Rumour: New Screen, Cheaper and White & Black Available At Launch?

The million-dollar question all tech journo's are wondering at the moment is when will we see the next iPhone 5? Well this seems to be a little easier to predict that you might actually think.

We all know that Apple love to refresh their products, every year without fail they go back to drawing board and try to improve their products. So with this in mind we know that we will see a new iPhone 5 this year.

Part of the reason why they like to refresh is that they can reduce the cost of each unit by improving the design and the manufacturing process.

But also part of their strategy is to keep everyone guessing until they're ready to unveil it to the world. It's all part of Apple's aggressive strategy to keep sales going up. Yes. It's annoying that they can't be more open and allow customers to know - as there's nothing worse than upgrading only to find a new iPhone is unveiled weeks later. Which happened to yours truly. So it can happen to the best of us. Especially as with the new iPhone 4 the upgrade deals for existing customers were non-existent.

There are already iPhone 5 rumors suggesting that the new device may be cheaper in terms of cost. The word is that Apple wants to attract consumers who are more budget-conscious.  Of course that would be a great thing for many people, but would it sacrifice the item’s quality in the process?

Also today, suspect reports have come to us via the Chinese Times that the new iPhone will also sport a 4-inch screen, and will come with a new scratch resistant screen and rear cover.

I think we all know that the new iPhone is going to have a bigger screen considering the success that many Android handsets  have had with the larger screen. And it seem sensible that Apple would want to do this as a bigger screen is better for games and all types of multimedia.

Elsewhere images of internal parts to the new phone have surfaced today reported show off a few design changes, as well evidence that the new phone will come in both silver and white at launch.

According to the China Times production will begin in the third quarter of this year pointing to a September release and most importantly just before Christmas, but importantly not close enough for Apple to be concerned about handset shortages.

Interestingly the China Times have also confirmed that there will be NFC tech within the phone – which was thought to not have made the cut.

We’ll keep you abreast of any further rumours we come across – and do let us know what you’d like to see in the new iPhone 5.
