Nintendo 3DS Price War Continues

A few days ago we had a little run down of the current Nintendo 3DS prices. At the time of publication the cheapest console was available from Morrisons for £187 but now the price war has officially began and it seems more and more companies are jumping on the £187 band wagon.

Along with Morrisons discount consoles will now be available at Dixons and Amazon. Here’s a quick look at the latest 3Ds discount deals.

Dixons

The electronics company requires Nintendo fans to pay a £10 deposit up-front and then the rest of the balance before the launch (you will receive a phone call before launch). It sounds like a bit of a pain in the bottom when you consider that you can just chuck one into your basket when you get your groceries, but then a deposit means no fear of missing out on the day as the console looks like it's going to be extremely popular.  Dixons have also stated that prices may drop even further.

Amazon

Amazon.co.uk also requires you to pay the £187 up-front. However, “if the Amazon.co.uk price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you’ll be charged the lowest price.”You can't say fairer than that. Amazon and Dixons pre-orders are definitely worth a look into. The online mega-store has stated that the 3DS has beaten the PS3’s pre-order sales by 20 per cent and the Wii by a massive 56 per cent. Children's tears and inflated eBay prices are a certainty.

With prices already at a more than reasonable £187 and companies hinting at further cuts we could be getting our hands on a fantastic looking 3D console for a price tag cheaper than a half-decent smartphone or a rubbish tablet. I think I'll pass on the iPad. 3Ds gets my vote come March 25th
