Youtube motorcycle speedster jailed

As people do stranger and more extreme things to reach the front page of YouTube, it looks like the law is catching up with technology and using evidence from the video-sharing site in court. A motorcyclist was jailed for 12 weeks today after he posted footage of himself on YouTube doing speeds of up to 130mph and performing perilous stunts.

Sandor Ferenci posted footage of himself racing on the wrong side of the road around Banbury, Oxfordshire. The video also shows him carrying out wheelies, wheelspins and skids.

The video was filmed by a friend from various vantage points around the area, including a bridge.

Before you go searching on Youtube for Sandor’s five minutes of fame, the footage has been removed.

The court heard that when police officers arrived at Sandor’s home, he asked them: “Is this about the YouTube video?” Police then found he had posted video clips of himself on the internet.

  • It’s incredibly stupid to be driving at that speed, but if you post it on the internet you deserve everything you get!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
