Top Future Gadgets for Your Home at the Ideal Home Show 2011

With the summer just around the corner it is time to get them home improvements done on your house. Home improvements don't have to only be the traditional lick of paint to your home. For all you gadget geeks out there, cool high tech gadgets are the absolute must have.

If you’re always the first one to have the latest gadgets in your home then take a look at some of our future tech finds when we decided to pay a visit to the Ideal Home Show a few days ago. The show had everything from cool and funky gadgets to stylish and luxury ones.  We have listed our top ones below…

Encompassco Rollfire: Moving Fire

Say goodbye to your portable electric radiator, as we were absolutely in love with Encompassco Rollfire.

This uber stylish portable fire can be rolled around the house. We got to try one out at the show and we were amazed by how fire remained in the centre when rolled. When asked how this was all done, we were told the Encompassco Rollfire was fuelled by bio-ethanaol and magnets to ensure that that the fire always remains level.
Roll Fire burns for 5 – 6 hours, creating a fantastic focal point and ambient heat in the home or for those chilly winter days in the garden.

Pretty stylish indeed? However with style comes a pretty hefty price tag as this portable fire will cost you around £2,000.

Bath-o-matic Eco Whirlpool Ultimate: Customise Your Bath Bubbles!

This is what I call bathtime bliss with the Bath-o-matic Eco Whirlpool Ultimate. Epitomising the art of luxury living this cutting edge bath gives you the ultimate bathtime experience.

Apart from a pop up TV and chilled champagne at the press of the button, you can even text the tub to what time you're getting home so it can be filled in on time as soon as you get through the door. As well as this, if you're often the type of person that hates to wait for your bath bubbles to reach the right temperature, the Bath-o-matic cleverly fills your bath and keeps it to your own personalised temperature.

Get the feeling that this might only have a place in celebrity homes? Well you're not wrong there as the bath will definitely come with a celebrity price too.  More details coming soon on this!

Neato Robotics XV-11 Vacuum: Your Human Housekeeper!

Wish the cleaning fairy would come and work her magic and clean your house whilst you’re away? Well unless you believe in fairies the chances are unlikely you'll find one! However fear not as we might have the answer! The Neato Robotics XV-11 vacuum was on show at the Ideal Home of the Future which vacuums carpets and hardwood floors, even when you're not at home!

It's clever infrared sensor and live mapping system means that it will avoid any furniture, obstacles and stairs. Even if you rearrange your furniture, the robot doesn't miss a trick and will adjust its settings accordingly.

It will pick up the tiniest of dirt, slides under sofas and then once finished will return to its charging base.

Which is your favourite tech gadget?  Do you already own one?  Leave you comments below…

  • I went with my wife for the first time this year. It’s got some pretty impressive innovative home ideas but at the same time it’s also got some interestingly cost effective ideas too. We got some good tips for improving our current house valuation with a few changes to colour and space within our house that we’re soon to be putting on the market.

  • That rolling fire is the coolest thing I have seen..

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
