Microsoft is "Moving the World Off Internet Explorer 6"

Microsoft is close to release the 9th version of Internet Explorer, but globally 12 percent of the users are still using Internet Explorer 6. Yes, IE6, which was released good 10 years back, is still in use and now its creator company is set to make it extinct. Microsoft has launched a website with very clear intent i.e. "Moving the world off Internet Explorer 6." The company is looking to bring the IE6 usage down to 1 percent.

Most of the IE6 users are located in Asia. China leads the pack with its 34.5 percent users still hooked to the sixth version. The other countries are India, Vietnam and surprisingly South Korea. We all grow accustomed and attached to the software we use, but 10 year liaison with a supremely outdated internet browser is beyond our comprehension. Further, IE6 has many security flaws as well which can compromise the security of your system. Such threat is more pronounced if you are a corporate user. Google recently reported that IE6 has minimum 142 security flaws. So, along with Microsoft, we too urge you to upgrade your internet browser for enhancing your productivity and ensuring the system security.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
