Research in Motion or RIM as we know it has confirmed that it is highly anticipated tablet PlayBook will make its UK debut in early
Q2. This could mean as early as April, as the tablet will be released in the US market this month. Earlier there were rumors about the possible delay in the US launch. But RIM's UK MD made it clear that Playbook will be available in the US market by the end of Q1. The second quarter of the year will be devoted to the launch of the tablet in Europe. The UK is expected to be one of the early ones.
The company also defended its staggered launch strategy. RIM claimed that the strategy had been successful with its BlackBerry Torch distribution. However, RIM is not the only company to do so. More and more companies are now moving towards such spread out distribution policy as it helps in the better management of supply chain. No official word has been given about pricing though.
