Microsoft to Launch Internet Explorer 9 on March 24th?

Internet Explorer looks all set for its final release and a tweet made by the India office of Microsoft Developer Network has pinned the release date at March 24th. However, Download Squad has cited anonymous insider sources suggesting that the new version may land even earlier on March 14th during SXSW conference. Although, March 14th dovetails nicely with tried and tested release cycle followed by Microsoft, the tweet from India office claims that the launch will be made on 24th March at Tech.Ed India 2011. Either way, 24th is the latest date by which you should expect the IE9 to arrive.

IE9 will be launched with Tracking Protection feature, which will provide various options to users to control the way they get tracked. It will also provide a feature to block ActiveX via 'ActiveX Filter'. Microsoft has claimed that 36 million copies of the beta version have been lapped up since its launch in September. Although, Internet Explorer is still the most popular browser, but it is fast losing ground to Firefox and Chrome. Let's just hope that IE9 brings some reprieve to the otherwise stumbling behemoth.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
