Samsung to Unveil 8.9 inch Tablet on March 22

Right on the heels of announcement about 7-inch Motorola tablet, we have another news of Samsung looking to unveil 8.9 inchversion of is Galaxy Tab. And now, we can rest assure that very soon we will have tablets at every inch differential. Motorola's plans are still vague but Samsung has already started its teaser campaign. The company has sent invites to journalists in the US and the invite bears a simple tablet picture with an inscription 'What's your Tab life? 78910". Ooooo, mysterious!!!

Since Samsung already has a 7 inch and a 10.1 inch tablet in its portfolio. It can be assumed that the company is going to launch either an 8 inch, 9 inch or 8.9 inch tablet. Not a long time back, Samsung had admitted that 7 inch size is not conducive for tablets so we can rule out the 8 inch tablet. That leaves us with an 8.9 inch or 9 inch tablet. The company's Facebook page says, "Were you excited about the introduction of our GALAXY Tab 10.1 at 2011 Mobile World Congress? If so, we’ve got more surprises in store at our UNPACKED event on 3/22!" March is sure going to be an exciting month for tablet fans.

  • I have a 7″ Galaxy S, and it is the right size for traveling. I used it in Eastern Europe over Christmas and New Year and was able to plug in a prepaid sim card in each country and keep in contact. A 10.1 is too big for that.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
