According to two prominent newspapers Jon Ive, the Brit-born senior vice president of Industrial Design at Apple, has told fellow boards members that he plans to give his children a UK education and would want to go back to the UK – apparently the board weren’t too happy and have stated it’s Apple or the UK. Not both.
Seems a bit harsh, Jon Ive along with Steve Jobs have being given pop-star geek status – with what they have achieved together at Apple over the last 15 years.
Couple that with Jobs’ own health issues and you got quite a problem for Apple – let’s just hope that they can come to an agreement where both parties are happy and move on.
Afterall, Ive has amassed quite a fortune, reported to be around £60million – so he’s not short of a quid or two – it would seem negotiations have come to a sticking point. Anyway if Facetime is that good he could do his job from anywhere. We’ll keep tabs on this one for you.
