Google May Launch Music Subscription Service with Honeycomb

We had been hearing rumors about Google's music subscription service from a long time. Though, we still have not got any official confirmation, but Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha let some information slip while speaking at MWC. While talking about the virtues of his 'overpriced' tablet, Motorola boss alluded to video and music services provided by Google. Umm, Which services are you talking about? He then clarified that one of the key features of Honeycomb is that "it adds video services and music services."

Earlier in September last year, Android guru Andy Rubin was said to be in talks with record companies for reaching a deal. On a separate occasion, Google had also said that mobile would be a key component of its music strategy. So, it is about time for Google to take the plunge. While, Apple App Store model is receiving brickbats, this time from AT&T, we cannot wait for Google to jump on the music subscription service bandwagon. Well, a little competition is always good for consumers.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
