New MacBook Pro Coming in Two Weeks?

There's the iPad the iPhone and then of course the MacBook.

Shiny new versions of Apple's devices are on their way and details about the later have began to emerge.

Though the new MacBook's have been delayed due to the faulty Intel Sandy Bridge Processor an Apple inside has said that production is set to start in about two weeks time.

Fortunately for Apple (and Intel) the chips didn't cause too much of a problem. An unnmaed source claimed that "some, but not all, of the new notebook designs were affected by the situation, but minor tweaks to the logic boards of those models would result in delays of a couple of weeks at most."

The word is that when it does come it will have some "enhancements." It is expected that the refreshed MacBook Pro could even replicate some of the features of the successful MacBook Air such as instant-on, standard SSD drives, slimmer enclosures, and the omission of optical drives.

But these are all rumours of course. Who knows what's really coming out and when.

  • If you remove the optical drive from a Macbook Pro 13, give it an SSD and a slimmer enclosure, how exactly does it differ from a Macbook Air 13?
