The prospect of a smaller, cheaper iPhone seems more promising today as the rumour heats up a notch.
The iPhone Nano as it is now being referred to is not just a mere plan. According to the Wall Street Journal “people familiar with the matter have actually laid hands and eyes upon it."
“One of the people, who saw a prototype of a new iPhone several months ago, said the new device is intended to be sold alongside the current line of iPhones and would be about half the size of the iPhone 4. The phone would be available to mobile carriers at about half the price of Apple’s main line of iPhones" claimed an unnamed source.
Suspiciously Apple is said to be also considering making its MobileMe online storage service free, allowing users to store their data in the cloud rather than on a small device such as an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad… or tiny new iPhone!
If it all proves to be true (despite Steve's leave) it could be a very successful year for Apple. There's enough fuss about them with the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 without an adorable little baby smartphone floating around too.
