“We Are Not Preoccupied With the Idea of launching a Call of Duty subscription service” Say Activision

The rumours that Activision are going to start charging for online COD just won't calm down. It would come as no surprise if it turned out to be true. After axing Guitar Hero and halting True Crime it seems they could be having money troubles, i.e. not making a suitable  amount of millions to satisfy the fat-cats at the top, and taxing COD users for online play would rope in a substantial amount of money for them.

But, CEO Bobby Kotick says that the company isn’t "preoccupied with the idea of launching a Call of Duty subscription service."

“What we really spend time thinking about is, how do you create really compelling Call of Duty experiences that are going to delight our audiences, and usually people are willing to pay for the content if you deliver them something spectacular, which is our intention” he says.

Is it just me or does it seem like he is sort of confirming it very subtly?

Of course, earlier this week, Activision also announced the formation of a new digital-focused Call of Duty development studio called Beachhead and no one knows what exactly is being developed their.

And if that isn't enough Activision news for you, the word is they are looking at buying out GTA.

Something tells me we will be hearing a lot from the big A this year.
