Google has made it easier to browse and install apps from its MarketPlace. The company has launched a companion website for itsApp Market, which will help you in rummaging through the multitude of apps. Earlier, if you had to get an app, you needed to access the Market from your device. Although, there were a couple of third party programs for letting you access the Market via  other routes, but now the experience is likely to be smoother as Google has come up with its own MarketPlace website.

You will need to sign in with your Google account for accessing the website and once you have found an app of your choice you can simply push it to your device using the sync facility. You can also track your app download via "My Market Account". The website will tag your already installed apps as 'installed' instead of 'install'. If you have several Android devices then you can choose which device you want the app to be installed on. For all these features, you need to be logged into your Google account. However, if you are on a public computer or do not want to sign in for any other reason, then Google has a way around it too. In such case, it will provide you with a QR code, which you can scan for downloading the apps. The website seems to be having some teething problems. But go ahead and let us know your opinion.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
