It's the start of a new week and it's time for some Gadget-Gossip. I don't mean "the iPad 2 will have this.." type of gossip, I mean claws out gossip.
NETGEAR global chairman CEO Patrick Lo has launched a verbal assault on Steve Jobs branding Apple's business model 'closed' and said that "Steve Jobs wants to suffocate the distribution so even though he doesn't own the content he could basically demand a ransom."
Lo then went on to criticize Jobs stance on Flash on iOS and said the only reason it was absent from Apple's mobile devices was because of Jobs' "ego."
But Android on the other hand received no such verbal beating, in fact Lo said of Google's OS, "it is set to become the dominant OS, not only on mobile phones, but other devices including TVs.".
As for Microsoft and Windows Phone 7?
"Microsoft is over - game over - from my point of view" said Lo.
Ding, Ding!-End of round one.

foolish coments from a ceo of a company whose products arent very innovative or distingued among any number of his competitors
Let’s pull this through a marketing filter..
“I am really envious of the success of IPhone and Windows Phone 7 had a fantastic launch given a crowded market with high competition, I only wish my company could have done that”
Yea. That sounds about right.
Well said Jim
Microsoft Phone 7 is an anti-Kinect product. Microsoft Kinect wows people with its innovativeness. While WP7 has some neat stuff, it’s not a standout product, crippled by a schizoid ad campaign. Microsoft cannot expect to make people excited about an expensive phone if it keeps telling people that they can spend less time with the phone. If they wanted to that, they could simply buy a cheaper phone!
@G Vu: About the ad campaign. The point is this. The unique feature of Win Phone 7 is the tiles interfaces. All apps can integrate with this interface, so that users can put what is most precious to them on the front. Meaning you look at your phone, and you see all the stuff thats important to you – AT A GLANCE!
If you’d rather stick with the competition which have you dig through a dozen apps.. then that is your choice! Free market for everyone.
I thought the campaign was pretty well done. If they say: our UI is better. Most people go like DUH, how does that help me, it just looks prettier. :-) So glance, and GO play soccer. Or spend time with your kids. Healthier than looking at your IPhone all day.
