Get ready for some Facebook loving, as the social networking site extends its 'Facebook Deals' feature to the UK today. Deals will help you in scoring bargains and freebies. All you have to do is to whip out your phone while you are onto the high streets, hit the Facebook app and make use of that 'Places' logo. The app will automatically provide you with the deals available at that place.
Facebook had released its 'Places' feature in the UK, last September. However, it kept 'Facebook Deals' exclusive to the US. 'Deals' was launched in October last year. The feature was launched with big 'Gap' deal, which gave away 10,000 free pairs of jeans. Let's see what kind of deals Facebook brings to the UK. Currently, there are some good ones which include Argos, offering to make a donation for every check in. Some stores might be offering loyalty cards as well. Starbucks is offering 30,000 cups of free coffee across the country today. So go ahead, and check it out.

The question remains: will it catch on and take over other sites, groupon, etc? With the facebook name I could see it happening as early as 2012.
