Sony PS3 Update v3.56 is Announced to Fix Security Patch

With news of the Sony PSP 2 and the PlaySation Suite, it is all about Sony this morning. And the news keeps seeping through. This time the company has announced a new firmware update for the PS3 called PS3 System Software v.3 56 update which main feature is to add a security patch to the console and blocks third party firmware from being used on the console.

It is rumoured that this update has come after the PS3 was jailbroken by notorious hacker Geohot and other infamous hackers with the tech scene.

Nothing else has been told about the new update other than the fact 'this is a minor update that adds a security patch' and it is mandatory meaning that you can't sign into the PlayStation Network or play games online without installing it.

They have confirmed that it will be released soon so when it does we'll keep you updated on the developments.
