Apple May Include NFC to iPhone 5 and iPad 2

Time for the latest iPhone and iPad rumor, and here it is for you. It looks like Apple may include one of the hottest technologiesaround i.e. Near Field Communication (NFC) payment system to the new generation of its devices. Bloomberg has reported Richard Doherty of Envisioneering Group as saying that Apple is all set to start a mobile payment service by mid 2011. Although the basis for this assertion are not known, but there are certain pointers which allude to the said possibility. Apple, last year, had hired Benjamin Vigier, who has worked with mobile payment provider MFoundry. The company has also filed for a patent for the use of NFC for sharing information between apps running on different Apple devices.

Apparently, the company has also created a prototype of payment terminal, which will be provided to the small businesses on heavily subsidized basis. This terminal will help small corner shops to accept payments via NFC enabled Apple devices. The company may also use this service for delivering more targeted ads. Since Android is already making use of NFC technology, so it seems plausible that Cupertino company would like to go one step ahead with the technology. Well, now we have got one more reason to wait for iPhone 5 and iPad 2 release with bated breath.
