Virgin Media has included 5 more towns to its 100Mb internet roll out plan. This would mean that now 150,000 more people would be able to enjoy lightening fast internet. The new towns are Hatfield and Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, Pentwyn, Treforest and Southport. With the latest additions, Virgin's 100Mb internet will reach 350,000 users, which is a good 0.5 percent of the total population of the UK.
Virgin Media did not let go of the opportunity to pat its own back. The company lauded itself for establishing the country's first broadband service, a decade back. It also said that it has invested "billions of private money" for establishing a growing network. The company is looking to complete the rollout by the middle of 2012. The company had earlier announced the rollout for Heckmondwike, Farnborough, Colchester, Barry, S Wales. Virgin has priced its service at £35 per month, if you opt for a bundle. The service will cost you £45 on standalone basis. Let us know if your area is included in the new plan.
