NVIDIA is certainly on the roll as the company's Tegra 2 Dual-Core processor is all set to be included in the new-gen superphones.Introduction of dual-core processors on the mobile handsets is likely to change the mobile processing arena. But NVIDIA is not done yet as now it seems to be working on a "Tegra 2 3D" chip. The new chip is expected to be introduced this spring.
According to a leaked slide specifying the chip, the new processor will have 1.2GHz speed and is based on Dual Cortex-A9 architecture. The company's move is yet another endorsement for 3D technology. Seems like, all electronics manufacturers, right from TV set makers to hand held game companies, are gravitating towards 3D tech. The 3D products introduced so far have met with only mild success, thanks to somewhat cumbersome paraphernalia. The chip is expected to create the same type of 3D which is currently being used by Nintendo for its 3DS. NVIDIA is expected to make a presentation about the chip during upcoming Mobile World Congress. Keep watching this space for more information.
