Microsoft Onenote finds its way onto the iPhone.

Microsoft has managed to sneak an Office application onto arch-rival Apple’s Iphone.

It's not one of the big boys like Word or Powerpoint though. It's little known app Onenote which, in case you haven't guessed is a note-taking application designed for shopping lists, trip planning, classrooms etc which some may find very useful indeed.

The version for Iphone syncs notes to Windows Live Skydrive for access via the web, another phone, or the Onenote software on a Windows PC so you can have access to all your notes at anytime.

It requires Apple’s IOS 4.2 software update to run and is based on the Onenote 2010 desktop application.

What's great is that the app is free for a limited time. Microsoft claims that one day it will charge for the Onenote app but it has not said when or how much.

It's a smart move by Microsoft to get money out of a rival's mobile OS but if they manage to push even more of Office onto the iPhone or maybe even Android then surely that will make some consumers think why bother getting a Windows Phone.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
