Apple iPad 2 Launch Set for April With In-Built SD Card Slot?

The iPad 2 is rumoured to featured everything from a 9.7-inch retina display to front and rear facing cameras and now according to rumours from Engadget a built-in SD card slot.

Tech blog Engadget has declared that a 'trusted' source close to the matter has confirmed that the imminent arrival of the second generation Apple tablet will see the device's sleek and stylish brushed metal body be afflicted by an inch long gash capable of supporting SD card file transfers.

Sounds like a design nightmare, but we know Apple are the best form-factor designers out there so they will make sure it doesn’t encroach upon the sleek design – well, we hope it won’t.

The SD slot is a welcomed inclusion, yes it’s not the USB that everyone is craving for, or a HDMI out, but it  would provide a easy way of transferring media from device to a TV, laptop or computer.

Expected to be unveiled on February 1st ahead of a global rollout in April, the iPad 2 is strongly believed to come boasting dual-camera credentials with Apple's FaceTime video calling technology touching down on its tablet device for the first time.

We’ll just have to see what happen on the February 1st when the big reveal is supposedly going to be unveiled – not long to go now.
