Apple had recently launched it Mac App Store, which scored 1 million downloads within 24 hours of its launch. However, its big
brother Apple App Store is all set to create its own record. The store is on the threshold of hitting 10 billion download mark. The company has already launched a countdown screen and has announced a prize for the 10 billionth download. Apparently, the company will give $10,000 to the person downloading 10 billionth app. Although, we can't help to notice that Apple is getting stingier with its growing cash pile. The company had given away an iPod Touch, a MacBook Pro, a Time Capsule and a $10,000 iTunes gift card to a 13 year old who had downloaded its 1 billionth app.
Anyhow, I think $10,000 will do nicely too. For this purpose, you need to be 13 years old and you are allowed 25 entries per day. The countdown clock at the company website is moving pretty swiftly and lets see who hits the jackpot this time.
