iPad Newspaper The Daily Receieves Delays: Could It Be Announced With iPad 2?

The incoming daily digital newspaper coming to the iPad from Apple and News Corp, the Daily, is being further delayed according to recent reports.

The Daily is set to be the first app to use the upcoming subscription-based app service which will deliver latest editions of periodic services straight to their iPad (once they sign up to the service).

Earlier this week, it was reported that Apple CEO Steve Jobs and News Corp Führer Rupert Murdoch were set to appear on January 19th in the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco to unveil the iPad-exclusive newspaper. However, according to the Wall Street Journal, we will be seeing a postponement of the launch until a currently unknown date while some testing and other issues using the subscription platform are being done.

WSJ has said that "a person familiar with the matter" has reported that "The app and the service work, it's just getting them to talk to each other that needs more time."

News Corp have apparently confirmed that the delay is true, but did not comment on reasons behind the delay or when we will expect the digital newspaper to arrive. It is very possible now however, that with the iPad 2 being expected to be announced on February 1st, we could be seeing iOS 4.3 and The Daily announced in its shadow.
