Yes, it's one of those stories. Apple thought of something good and did it bad and now everyone else is trying to steal their thunder. It was the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad and now thank God we're giving that i a rest, it's FaceTime.
Skype, naturally, have had a pop at FaceTime by releasing their Android/Apple video chat app and now surprise surprise Microsoft want in on the face action.
Their version of FaceTime for Windows Phone 7 will apparently integrate with Microsoft's Live services, allowing it to be used on all Windows Phones.
When asked why Microsoft wouldn't use a service such as Skype, the answer was that the FaceTime competitor would "reach beyond the hand of Skype."
Ooooo big promises from Bill there.
It was also said that a front-facing camera may be a requirement for Windows Phone 8 devices, though there isn't any confirmation if the service will be a part of Windows Phone 7 via an update or not.
And Android are having a go too. Their FaceTime fraud should be hitting the market soon.
