TomTom GO 930T, 730 and 530 – The Charlies Angels of the SatNav World

tomtom930t Getting ready to see their competition quaking in their boots TomTom have announced a new set of SatNavs, which include the 930T, 730 and 530.

This dynamic trio, not only have the stamina but also the brains to go with it, with two added features. One of these new features is the IQ routes which makes use of the historical speed data to estimate your arrival rather than just relying on the annoyingly and over optimistic speed limits.

The other feature is to help us brush up on our lane discipline skills by adding Advanced Lane Guidance for steering you into the correct lanes at junctions.

The 4GB 930 and 2GB 730 is kitted out with a large 4.3in screens, Bluetooth, FM Transmitters, TomTom Map Share and for the ‘T’ versions, an optional live traffic info. If you're looking for something cheaper then the 1GB 530 has much the same spec but will drop the FM transmitter and live traffic option.

They will be making their debut here next month so let's watch this space to see if they can put a stop to all the competition in their tracks.

  • I think your asking me how much it costs, in the UK its around £400 ($800 USD). Hope that helps, Amazon have them in stock..

  • Regarding the Latest map guarantee so users always have free access to the latest map at time of purchase – how do you download it when it will not fit. Although it states it comes pre-installed with the most up-to-date seamless maps when you plug it in to your computer it says a new map is available but you can not dowload it as it will not fit within the 4 GB internal flash memory – What do you do?

  • There is also an external SD card slot which you maybe able to use for additional memory.

  • Would not buying a 4GB+ SD Card help in this matter? I would of thought however that if its an update you are referring to the update would just overwrite the information.

  • Does anyone know whether and SD card is useable in tomtom go 930t etc.? I have several SD cards purchased for use in my camera and it would be really good if they can be used in my new tomtom.

  • Hi HelenS, Ive been looking around the internet for you and im glad to say yes the SD card is useable on the 930t. From what I have gathered it can be used to view your camera photos on the TomTom.

So it looks like all those SD cards from your cameras might come in handy, least you can find out whats on them lol

TomTom will prob release more feautes that can be used with the SD card.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
